Treadmill Total

FYI - For anyone out there who reads this and who might want to know why I'm keeping track of my miles .... Every Friday on MSWorld, there's a thread called Walking 4 Wellness. It's a thing that anyone can contribute to. We wear pedometers (or the treadmill keeps count for you) and we count how many miles we accumulate over the course of the week. This includes everyday walking, like around the house, work, errands and planned walks.

Every step really does count and it adds up! All of our miles get added together each week, and my best friend, Mrs. Bean, posts our collective total. She draws a line on a map of how far we've walked. She started it in Washington, which is where she's from. We've made it to Louisiana. We have virtual parties at these places we go - it's planned out ahead of time where we'd like to go. This last stop was for Mardi Gras, and now we're headed to a steamboat.

It's a lot of fun and it's a great motivator. And contributing to a group makes it more worthwhile. It feels like you're really doing something. Whether is .25 mile or 15 miles. It doesn't matter.
