Compromise

I made a deal with myself. When I got home, I took a 1 1/2 hour nap. I needed that. Then I got up and went to the gym to use the treadmill. No class, just walking. I changed it up, though. Every 5 minutes I switched the "intensity". For 5 minutes, I walked a speed of 3.4 with 0 incline. Then for 5 minutes I would decrease the speed to 3.2 and up the incline to 2.0%. So that felt neat and I think it helped work my legs more.

2.73 miles

I've had a very difficult time with inclines and declines, ever since my 2nd exacerbation that weakened my legs. So I'm trying to build up those muscles and get better. Hell, stairs were so difficult for me until this past November. Going up or down, it didn't matter!

So, I think that by increasing the incline for short periods is my best bet right now. Bringing it back to level at certain intervals helps my legs rest - while still moving. : )

I also weighed myself after my walk, with my shoes off. I am so damn excited, I'm bursting! I now weigh 148 3/4 lbs. Yes, I'm counting that 3/4 lb! I'm not going to cheat and say I'm 148, but I'm NOT 149! I can't believe that I've broken 150. I've received a whole new burst of encouragement!

I have a PCP appointment on Monday night, and she's going to be blown away, too!
